FAQ

Our excursions depart from various points around Chicago. All of our tour descriptions include the starting and end points, which in most cases are one and the same. For group tours, craft brewery and distillery tours, and hiking/camping jaunts, we can adjust our pick-up point, or even arrange pick in a private, spacious bus! Contact us for more information.

Chicago Weekend Explorers is big on the holidays, so the answer is yes, yes, and yes! We constantly update our trips – especially those to Mexico – to take advantage of the everchanging cultural landscape! Check out our calendar to see what’s on tap!

Most of our tours are family friendly, but as some do involve lots of biking and walking, we ask that you carefully read the physical exertion requirements for that tour. Tours that involve breweries or distilleries will have stops that likely prohibit anyone under 21 entering, so please contact us at least 3 business days beforehand to make alternate arrangements for underage tour participants.

If you cancel at least 7 calendar days in advance, there is no cancellation fee. If you cancel between 2 and 6 calendar days in advance, you will be charged a 50% cancellation fee. Cancellations done within 24 hours of a tour are not eligible for any refund

Yes we do offer group tours! All of our group tours are carefully planned for your fun, relaxation and safety. Schools, congregations, student groups, let us design a custom outing for you! Looking for an afternoon hike, or a retreat event in Michigan’s lake district? We’ve got you covered.

We not only offer group discounts, but we also plan customized group tours – in English, Spanish or Chinese – and can arrange airport pick up and drop off, hotel reservations, and tour add ons. Contact us at info@chicagoweekendexplorers for more details.

Since so many of our tours involve walking, biking or hiking, we do occasionally have to take inclement weather into account. Should a tour need to be cancelled or altered, you will be alerted in advance. We understand that many people are on tight schedules, so we try to be as flexible as possible in these matters. Thanks for your patience in advance for these rare events!

Our tour guides are vaccinated, as we take the safety of tour buddies – and ourselves – quite seriously.
