27 Dec Chicago Activities This Weekend
In the spirit of Christmas, we’ve rounded up some awesome Christmas events to help bring in Christmas and the New Year!
First up: the Goodman Theater presents their annual production of A Christmas Carol. We all know the tale, and no one presents it better than the Goodman! I saw this myself when I was a child, and I am sure that the production is still as crisp and engrossing now as it was then.
Actually, let me suggest something to do that is actually not doing something. Walk through Lincoln Park from North and Clark all the way up to Diversey. Enjoy the last few vestiges of fall, before the leaves depart and the sky turns that deceptive, warm looking blue. On your way, you can swing by the Lincoln Park Conservatory, all decked out in Christmas splendor. As always, it is free free free to get into the Lincoln Park Conservatory.
I will finish this off – 3 is a nice number, right? – with a nod to Christmas around the world, at the Museum of Science and Industry. The concept is simple – a Christmas tree for nearly every country in the world, decorated with traditional ornamentation from that country. It’s really cool, and the trip to Hyde Park can be kinda cool. Take the 6 Jeffrey bus from downtown, make sure you have a nice window view eastward, the lake is gorgeous along this drive.
